Warrensburg Police Reports for September 30, 2024
AUTHOR'S NOTE: The Warrensburg Police Department issues their reports to the press once weekly. These reports are for every incident submitted from September 2nd through September 8, 2024. The reports were submitted to KSIS on September 27, 2024.
On 9/2/2024 at 0823 hours, A juvenile reported that an unknown person entered their vehicle at 428 East Market Street, stealing items from the vehicle. This happened sometime between 2300 to 0823 hours. There is no suspect information at this time. Investigation ongoing.
On 09/02/2024 at 1916 hours, Jerry Short reported that a known female subject violated a full order of protection during a child custody exchange at 102-B South Holden Street around 1900 hours. Investigation ongoing.
On 9/2/2024 at 1923 hours, Officers responded to the 600 block of Creach Drive for a male subject having mental health crisis. Officers transported him to Crisis Access Point.
On 9/3/2024 at 0850 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Westgate Drive in reference to a noise complaint reported by Kyle Cassady. Kyle stated that his neighbor's dogs are always outside and constantly barking. The male subject stated he wanted to press charges for peace disturbance. This incident will be sent to the prosecutor for review.
On 9/3/2024 at 1351 hours, Officers responded to the 500 block of McGoodwin St. in reference to a domestic disturbance between a known male and female subject. Upon arrival, it was determined a physical altercation occurred between the male and female subject. However, due to the inability to determine a physical aggressor, no arrests were made. This case will be forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney for review and a determination on possible charges.
On 9/3/2024 at 1619 hours, Tara Hubbard reported that at Hamilton and Zoll Street, an unknown male subject in a vehicle approached a juvenile, who was walking, asking them multiple times if they wanted a ride. The male subject left the area. Investigation ongoing.
On 9/3/2024 at 1531 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Streck Lane in reference to an agency assist for Johnson County Ambulance District. It was reported that a female subject was having a mental health crisis. Upon arrival, Officers talked with the female subject who agreed to be transported the Crisis Action Point.
On 9/3/2024 at 2122 hours, Natasha Meddock reported that a female subject assaulted a known female subject in the 1400 block of Northfield Park Boulevard causing serious injury. Jellica Suzanne Lehman, 19, was arrested for assault. She was transported to the Johnson County Jail.
On 9/4/24 at 1558 hours, Officers responded to a report of a weapons call that occurred in the 200 Block of West Hunt Street. Two juvenile and three adult male suspects have been identified. This report was submitted to the Johnson County Juvenile Office.
On 9/4/2024 at 2213 hours, Officers were dispatched to a burglary that previously occurred in the 600 block of N Ridgeview Drive. There is no suspect information at this time. Investigation continues.
On 09/04/24 at approximately 2311 hours, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Blake Anthony Drive in reference to a suicidal subject. A male subject was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
On 09/04/2024 at 0900 hours, Officers were made aware of an assault that occurred at the Warrensburg High School (1411 S Ridgeview Drive). A juvenile took an item from another juvenile and was assaulted after not giving it back. This report will be forwarded to the Johnson County Juvenile office.
On 09/06/2024 at 0115 hours, An adult male subject reported he was having a hard time and wanted to speak to an Officer. He agreed to be transported to WMMC for a mental health evaluation.
On 09/06/2024 at approximately 1435 hours, Emagene Johnson reported an unknown subject broke into their residence in the 500 block of West Young on 9/5/2024 at an unknown time and stole multiple items. The investigation is ongoing.
On 9/6/2024 at 1513 hours, Kevin Brockmeyer reported harassment and assault in the area of Mitchell and Culton Street. Brockmeyer said that an unknown male subject drives by the juveniles yelling at them. He said that on 9/5/24, at approximately 1445 hours, the unknown male subject threw a soda bottle at a juvenile hitting them with it. This incident is under investigation.
On 9/6/2024 at approximately 1528 hours, Eva Norton reported that a known female subject would not return 3 car seats. Norton stated that she asked for the car seats to be returned multiple times. The total cost for the car seats was $560. This incident will be sent to the prosecutor for review. The prosecutor later declined to file charges, due to this incident being a civil matter.
On 09/06/2024 at approximately 2235 hours, Tony Tharp reported an unknown male subject assaulted him by throwing a sandwich at him at 502 North Maguire Street. Investigation ongoing.
On 09/06/2024 at 2055 hours, Anthony Clevenger requested a welfare check on a known female subject in the 400 block of East Market Street. He reported that no one has heard from her since 08/30/2024. A female subject was located deceased inside of the residence. She was released to the Johnson County Coroner.
On 9/6/2024 at approximately 2008 hours, Officers were dispatched to a gas station at 303 North Maguire Street in reference to a theft. Three unknown male subjects stole multiple items and left the scene in a dark sedan. Investigation continues
On 09/07/2024 at approximately 0401 hours, a female subject reported that a unknown male subject touched her in a sexual manner in the 100 block of West Pine Street. The investigation was forwarded to the Whiteman Air Force Base Office of Special Investigations Division.
On 9/6/2024 at 1205 hours, Kyla Mclain reported that a known male subject assaulted her in the 400 block of North Charles Street on 9/6/2024, at approximately 2100 hours. This incident was sent to the City Prosecutor for review.
On 09/07/2024 at approximately 1230 hours, Sieaira Moon reported that a known female subject's dog bit a juvenile on the head in the 600 block of Broad Street. The owner of the dog left the area after the dog bite. Contact was made later with a female suspect. She was unable to provide current vaccination records and the dog was quarantined.
On 9/7/2024 at approximately 2241 hours, Amanda Martin reported a disturbance at in the 600 block of E Young Street. Officers determined a known male subject assaulted a male subject. Jason Lee Mullen, 23, was located and arrested for Assault Second Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was placed in the Johnson County Jail on a 24 hour hold. NOTE: There is currently no listing in Casenet for this incident.
On 09/08/2024 at approximately 0010 hours, I was dispatched to the 600 block of Spring Ridge Road in regards to a domestic disturbance between a male and female subject. The male subject left the scene prior to Officers arriving. Ongoing Investigation.
On 9/8/2024 at 0743 hours, Aleczander Beebe reported that a known female subject threw items, hitting him in the hand, in the 400 block of Windy Way. Due to lack of cooperation, this incident will be sent to the prosecutor for review.
On 09/08/2024 at approximately 0800 hours, Officers responded to the Henry
County Jail to extradite a known female subject back to Johnson County. Kayla Michelle Sullivan, 35, was arrested on three active Warrensburg municipal warrants for charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility, Displaying the License Plates of Another Person, and Driving While Revoked. Sullivan was
placed in the Johnson County Jail. On September 11th, Sullivan was sentenced to two days in the Johnson County Jail, and all costs were waived.
On 9/8/2024 at 1006 hours, I was dispatched to a theft at a grocery store located at 410 East Young Street. A manager reported that an unknown male subject came out of the woods and grabbed shopping cart and then began walking toward the Ford dealership with the cart and did not return. The store did not want to press charges for stealing, but wanted the cart back and the male subject trespassed. Officers located a male subject soon after with the shopping cart in question. The male subject was trespassed from the store, and the shopping cart was returned.
On 09/08/2024 at 1938 hours, Officers were dispatched to a gas station at 602 East Young Street for a report of a female subject actively damaging merchandise in the store. McKenzie Tanya Thurman, 30*, assaulted three officers and was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center with signed affidavits. This report will be sent to the PA for review of possible charges.
On 09/08/2024 at 1955 hours, Megan Knowles reported her motorcycle was damaged in the area of 831 Prairie Hill Drive, around 1730 hours. This report was created for documentation per request of reporting party.
*On August 15th, 2024, Thurman was cited by the Raymore Police Department on charges of Property Damage, Disorderly Conduct, and Assault.
