One Warsaw resident was killed and two others were injured in a Benton Co. accident on October 4.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a northbound 2001 Toyota Echo failed to negotiate a curve on Route MM. The vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and struck a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado head-on.

78-year-old Donald Evans, the driver of the Echo, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Benton Co. Coroner. Two people in the Colorado, 56-year-old Larry Roberts and 80-year-old Doris Roberts, were taken by ambulance to Bothwell Regional Health Center for the treatment of moderate injuries.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident and were towed from the scene. None of the injured people involved were wearing safety devices, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol's online crash report.

This incident is the 56th fatal accident in 2018 for the highway patrol's Troop A region, and Evans is the region's 60th fatality.
