World Finance Moves to New Location in Sedalia

Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors welcomed World Finance, 809 Thompson, to their new location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception held Friday at noon.

District Supervisor Angie Ward said World Finance Corporation is an installment loan company that offers loan in Missouri from $200 to $10,000.

"We started in Sedalia in 1997, so this year we are celebrating our 20th year. We're happy with our new location. We are publically owned and traded on the NSDAQ, under WRLD which is very odd for a consumer finance company," Ward said.

World Finance is based out of South Carolina, and has been in business since 1962. The company is currently in 15 states, and also has operations in Mexico.

The Sedalia branch is the sixth office World Finance opened in Missouri, but now has 75 locations statewide with plans for a 76th later this month.
