Warrensburg, MO) The continuous onslaught of precipitation falling throughout the region has led Central Missouri Speedway (CMS) promoters Earl and Susan Walls to cancel events for Sunday, May 24th at CMS. Unfortunately, due to the continuing weather conditions and outlook for Monday, which was originally slated for a makeup date, CMS has also canceled the planned makeup event on Monday, May 25th.

The Warrensburg area has received several inches of rain over the last few weeks leaving the grounds saturated ultimately leading to six of nine planned events at the track this year falling to rain. This year more than any other in their 20-year history of operating CMS, the Walls have never experienced this many rain outs.

On Saturday, May 23rd track preparation specialist Don Abney treated participating drivers and fans to a fast, smooth, and spectacular track surface to compete on before the wet weather cut racing short for the night. Abney has recently spent several hours grooming the track in between the wet weather in preparation for the annual Memorial Day weekend events and the rest of the season.

Chad Staus of Otterville, Missouri won his first-ever race at Central Missouri Speedway on Saturday night as he took an exciting win over current B-Mod point's leader Jacob Ebert. When asked about his first-ever CMS win, Staus' s stated, "I've just been jinxed their over the years." The B-mod feature event was the only main event completed before Saturday night's program was cut short by Mother Nature's wrath.

CMS recently acquired new and improved track equipment and Abney has put all of it to good use in stages to provide the best racing surface possible for drivers to compete on and for CMS attendees to enjoy. When racing resumes in the area, drivers and fans alike will witness for themselves the dedication and hard work that Abney has put in at the facility.

Saturday, May 30th at CMS is Better Country KIX 105.7 FM Night at the Races featuring USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Lightning Sprints, B-Mods, and Pure Stocks. Also on the card next week is the third appearance this year by the ULMA Late Models.

Stay tuned to www.centralmissourispeedway.net for future announcements regarding make-up features for the USRA Modifieds, Lightning Sprints, and Street Stocks, which were postponed due to the May 23rd rained out events. Once CMS determines future makeup dates for each of these car classes, it will make announcements via official press releases through the track website, Facebook, Twitter, and E-mail group.
