The August primary election will see a contested race on the Republican side of the ticket this year. Former City Councilwoman Pam Carter signed up to run for Pettis County Presiding Commissioner on the last day of filing, and will face David Dick in the Aug. 5 election.

In an interview Friday afternoon (April 11), Carter talked about her past experience, which she feels has given her an understanding of the relationship between local and state government. The winner of the August primary will face Democrat Kenneth Schuber of Hughesville.

Listen to our interview with Carter below.
