Care Connection for Aging Services will conduct free, confidential memory screenings in June.

The screenings will take place on June 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sedalia Senior Center, located at 312 South Washington Avenue.

“The screenings can be the first step to a proper diagnosis and treatment – and the care you might need,” said Marilyn Gunter, Director of Care Management. “For others, the screening could provide peace of mind.”

Pettis County Care Manager Shery Fogle will provide the screenings that test participants’ recall to see if they are experiencing any type of memory issue. According to a press release from Care Connection, If issues exist, Fogle will recommend that the participant see his or her doctor, and will offer to contact the physician about the test results.

The National Memory Screening Program is an initiative of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
