The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners track and field team claimed seven top-eight finishes at the Shocker Open hosted by Wichita State University inside Cessna Stadium on Friday, May 3.

 

The Lady Roadrunners 4 x 400m relay team consisting of sophomore Keiyah Cole of Kansas City, Missouri; freshman Madison Johnson of Harrisonville; sophomore Tanner Maggard of Bonne Terre; and freshman Kira Phipps of Lawson finished first with a time of 4:27.94.

 

Freshman Molly Prichard of Pacific finished third in the discus with a throw of 37.30 meters. Prichard finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 11.66 meters.

 

Freshman Claire Nichols of Charleston, Missouri finished fourth in the javelin with a throw of 32.73 meters.

Cole finished seventh in the 100m with a time of 12.69. Johnson finished seventh in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:12.96. Maggard finished seventh in the 1500m with a time of 5:25.45.

“Wichita marked the end of our regular season,” said Head Coach Brad Hagedorn. “Again, we showed our mental toughness by continuing with consistent performances. Many of our kids set personal bests against some really good competition. We will spend the next week getting ready for Nationals in Monroe, Louisiana."
