ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — A 51-year-old man has been arrested after breaking into the downtown St. Joseph fire station, taking spaghetti out of a refrigerator and hiding under a desk.

The St. Joseph News-Press reports that the break-in happened Monday night after fire crews responded to an emergency call. Authorities say two firefighters were left at the station when a 51-year-old man climbed into the building.

Firefighters called police after apprehending the man. Officer Aaron King with the St. Joseph Police Department says the man broke into the building to get out of the cold because he wasn't allowed to go to other shelters.
