Around 8:20 Tuesday morning (June 20), Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 300 block of East Saline Street, in reference to a disturbance in which the suspect was allegedly armed with a hammer. The suspect had fled the scene prior to officers' arrival. According to the report, the victim said that the suspect threatened her with the hammer and punched her in the eye. The suspect, identified as 48-year old Lonnie Richard Thompson, was later located in the area and arrested. Thompson was taken to the Pettis County Jail. Charges are being sought for Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and 2nd Degree Domestic Assault.


At 11:30 Monday morning (June 19), Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check at American Inn, located at 1217 South Limit Ave. According to the report, a search of the suspect’s room revealed a firearm, a needle with meth residue, prescription medication, and marijuana. Dispatch then confirmed the suspect’s warrant for parole violation. The suspect, 48-year old Eric Allen Monsees, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, with no bond. Charges are being submitted for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana.


On Monday night (June 19), Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Broadway and South Kentucky Ave, for a vehicle with no license plate. According to the report, the driver provided a false identity. His real identity was revealed to be 34-year old Shawn Bradley Bosworth. Investigation revealed he had a suspended Missouri driver’s license. Bosworth was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail, for driving while suspended and identity theft.
