State Fair Community College (SFCC) and Central Methodist University (CMU) have announced a new accelerated teacher program that will prepare students to enter the classroom in three years.

The new program is available on campus, online or in a hybrid delivery method that expedites studies in four different areas. SFCC students may enter a streamlined pathway in early childhood, elementary education, middle school and special education. Upon completion, students will have the credentials needed for certification in their respective area of study.

“This is a fantastic program designed to get well-trained educators into the classroom expeditiously,” said SFCC Education Instructor and CMU alum Cara Barth Fagan. “Our students will have a competitive advantage by entering into CMU’s renowned, quality education program.”

Students in the program will spend the first year working through coursework at SFCC. Studies during the second year will be split between SFCC and CMU and year three will include student teaching requirements through CMU. Standard admissions requirements, including application to the institutions still apply.
