Veteran's Day will be here before we know it. We all owe so much to our cherished Veterans that to miss it would be unthinkable in our area. One way you can show your support and gratefulness would be to attend the upcoming JROTC ceremony with Smith Cotton High School. We're getting on this now to get the word out so we can have a large number of Veterans present to honor them for their service. The ceremony is sent by video to all schools in the district.  The Smith-Cotton High School JROTC  will host a Veterans Day breakfast and ceremony on 11 November  at Smith-Cotton High School to honor all Veterans and thank them for their service.  Breakfast will start at 7:45 am, with the ceremony to begin at 8:45 am.

I got to talk with Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Kendall Ott, Cadet Command Sergeant Major Connor Greene, and Cadet Colonel Shelbi Davis about what the group has planned.

All Veterans and their spouse or guest are invited to attend.  In order to properly plan for the breakfast and seating, we ask that attendees RSVP to the JROTC office at 660-851-5317. There will be a Parade  beginning at the Smith Cotton Junior High School at 3:30. Also, if any Veterans out there might need a little help, The Veterans Summit is open to all veterans and interested members of the public in Warrensburg. It'll be held on Monday, October 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the University of Central Missouri Elliott Union, Room 240.  Expert panels will discuss personal, emotional and spiritual issues along with continuing education and career opportunities while also learning about healthcare and benefits.  In addition to the panels there will be resource tables representing dozens of veteran related opportunities and services.  For more information about the summit, call 573 442 9311 or 573 645 9625.

Respectfully yours,
Behka
