A Smithton man suffered serious injuries in a one-car rollover accident that occurred in just south of Smithton early Sunday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 17-year-old Edison F. Selvey was the driver of southbound 1999 Ford F-250 at 12:27 a.m. on Route W north of Bluhm Road, when the vehicle left the left side of the roadway where it impacted the ditch and overturned, coming to rest of the driver's side.

According to the report, Selvey was not wearing a safety device. He was flown to University of Columbia by Lifeflight air ambulance.

The Ford was totaled and towed by Don's Truck Towing. Pettis County deputies assisted the Patrol with the investigation.
