There have been a lot of places to eat in Sedalia that have come and gone. Which ones do we miss the most?  I have a few you might agree with.......

It was October 29, 1929, the Stock Market crashed, wiping out the fortunes of thousands of investors.  The day came to be known as BLACK TUESDAY, and it triggered the "GREAT DEPRESSION" which lasted for nearly 10 more years.

I know this is going to make me sound so incredibly old, but here goes.  There's something I've noticed about the young people today - they don't seem to know much about what happened before them.  In fact, my niece will use that as an excuse for just about anything she doesn't know that's pop culture related.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri will spend 2015 celebrating its 55th anniversary of serving children in the west central Missouri area.

The toys kids are requesting most this year are things with names like Chomp and Stomp, Xeno, and Leapfrog TV.  I don't even know what to make of that.

The Lake Creek Camp meeting has been meeting since the 1800's outside of Smithton.  It brings a rich history to their new events coming up for this year's meeting in the idyllic countryside of the valley.

The Native American Artifact Show was held this past Saturday (June 28).

The History channel's first original series, 'Vikings,' certainly caught our attention last year, but at nine episodes, Ragnar and his brood came and went far too quickly. That all changes in February 2014, as History has officially set a premiere date for the 10 episodes of 'Vikings' season 2!

An ever sensitive topic though it remains, slavery films in Hollywood have no doubt risen  the last few years in public profile, from '12 Years a Slave' to 'Django Unchained,' and now the trend has reached TV. History will reboot the iconic 'Roots' miniseries as an all-new drama, but who from the original production will have any involvement?

On July 18 the New York Yankees held a comfortable lead in the A.L. East and seemed destined for a deep playoff run. Since then, the Bombers have somehow managed to blow a 10-game advantage over the Orioles, leading to a scramble for first place and an extremely rattled New York fan base. Still, this is hardly the first time that a team with a comfortable lead has suffered a late-season collapse.
