Mom and I would bundle up in our long underwear and head over to Papa Jake's. Mom would get me some donut holes and a hot chocolate and we'd share them while watching the parade (our usual spot was right around the Hotel Bothwell).
A pair of Smith-Cotton High School teachers are leading a coalition that will provide face shields for Bothwell Regional Health Center and the Sedalia Fire Department.
The Salvation Army of Sedalia is always busy working on helping people here in our area. They offer lots of dinners, but coming up on April 20 they have a free Easter dinner. Not only can you enjoy the food, but you can also volunteer with the meal itself.
The Sedalia Downtown area is one of those places I think everyone knows about, but doesn't keep it in mind every day. That's a shame, because our downtown is growing, changing, upgrading, and bringing Sedalia's history alive every day. Not only did they have a great Chocolate Crawl recently, but they've got plans in motion for this year's Scott Joplin festival and more.
The people of Sedalia are known for their generosity. It's just something that we were raised with; most of us really like to help our fellow man and it's something we feel is important. While Sedalia is known for the Missouri State Fair, The Katy Trail, all of our great restaurants, we're also somewhat surprising under the surface.
