Your ride to work or school tomorrow, Friday, February 16, could be slippery, and slushy. Or you might just be dealing with rain. Of course, the dreaded "s word" is in the forecast for tomorrow as well.

Let's face it, anything other than sunshine and more or less comfortable temperatures will be a bit of a bummer. I mean we've gotten spoiled the past couple of weeks. Well, get ready to be bummed.

Overnight expect rain to move into the area, the National Weather Service says that'll happen after 3:00 AM CST. On top of that the temperature will be hovering right around freezing. For tomorrow, Friday, February 16, the forecast says our area can expect rain and snow, mixed with freezing rain before 1:00 PM, then a chance of snow through the end of the workday. The good news, which isn't that good, we'll reach a high of 35 which is above freezing.

As far as the snow goes, we could see anywhere from a trace of snow to about an inch. It's pretty much like that along Highway 50 from the Lee's Summit to Jefferson City. According to the National Weather Service's map, it does look like Interstate 70 could see a little more snow than the Jefferson City-Sedalia-Warrensburg-Lee's Summit corridor. Perhaps one to two inches of snow, while Columbia could see one to three inches of snow, and Moberly could see two to four inches of the white stuff.

The chance of our area getting an inch or more of snow? 47% for Sedalia, 46% for Kansas City, and 60% for Jefferson City. Columbia? 81% and 92% for Moberly.

There is some good news on the horizon. While the high for both Friday and Saturday is 35, that's not too bad for this time of year. Bet get this Sunday's high is 53 with high temperatures in the 60s for the middle of next week.

For February in Missouri, I'll take this forecast. Even if tomorrow will be a wet slushy slippery mess.
