The City of Sedalia announced that work on Winchester Drive was delayed last week due to weather.

On Monday, June 10 at 6 a.m. and continuing through Wednesday, June 12 at 7 a.m., Winchester Drive will be closed from the roundabout at Highway Y to north of the intersection with W. 10th Street. The intersection at W. 10 St. will be closed during this period.

Drivers will need to plan a different route and avoid this area to ensure they arrive at their destinations on time and to assist in keeping congestion to a minimum so these roadway improvements can be made safely.

Businesses in the area have been advised of the road work and closure. Those residents needing access to the Eye Clinic at 1200 Winchester will be need to access the clinic via W. 12th Street beginning on Monday, June 10 through Wednesday, June 12.

The work completed during the road closure will be the grinding of the existing roadway and those ground materials will then be injected with a polymer to establish the new road base. The roadway will be re-opened to allow for the polymer to cure or harden. During the period Thursday, June 13 through approximately June 24, the roadway will be open to through traffic, but will not have a “finished” surface.

The City apologized for any inconvenience this road closure and lane restrictions may cause as work continues to improve the area. The resurfacing project is weather- and equipment-dependent and may be delayed due to rain or equipment breakdowns.
