Some really fun annual events take place right at the start of the year. Events ranging from pro bull riding and rodeo to live theater are scheduled in January and February around the Sedalia area.

  • Daum Museum of Contemporary Art

    Two exhibits, Contingent Structures: Recent Ceramics by Brandon Reese and Clay Culture: Voulkos, Kaneko, Reitz, and Leedy, will be on display at the Daum Museum January 27 - May 27. Admission to the Daum Museum is free. Hours are Tuesday - Friday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday - Sunday 1 - 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Mondays.

  • JROTC Drill Meet

    The Smith-Cotton JROTC Drill Meet is February 17 at Smith-Cotton High School. It will include JROTC cadets from four states. Events include Unarmed Regulation and Exhibition, Armed Regulation and Exhibition, Color Guard. JROTC will also host a silent auction.

    State Fair Community College presents The Actress February 21-25 at the Stauffacher Theatre. "The Actress, a funny and poignant new comedy, takes place backstage as a colorful, complicated actress makes her emotional farewell performance." Tickets go on sale at 8 a.m. on February 7.
