21-Year-Old Faces Weapons Charge in Deadly Missouri Shooting
An Independence man faces a weapons charge in a deadly shooting that authorities say may have stemmed from an ongoing feud over a stolen vehicle.
The Kansas City Star reports that 21-year-old Tristen Bishop was charged Monday with unlawful use of a weapon in last week's killing of 20-year-old Abigail Edwards in an Independence home. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.
Court records say Bishop and another person had been under investigation for a series of street robberies. When Bishop was arrested over the weekend, he was in possession of a Ruger 9mm pistol. Crime scene investigators had found shell casings of that type near the homicide scene. Court records say Bishop told a detective that he and an accomplice fired several shots into the residence.
