Senior Jeremy Acosta capped his Smith-Cotton High swimming career with successful races at the state finals on Friday and some new school records.

Acosta finished 12th in the 100-yard butterfly on Friday, a day after he broke his own school record in the event in the preliminaries, posting a time of 54.41. He also took 16th place in the 100-yard backstroke; in the prelims, he broke his school record with a time of 56.74.

The Tigers' 200-yard medley relay team of Acosta, Hunter Scholl, Lowell Pilliard and Clay Pilliard finished in 19th place and set the S-C boys record with a time of 1:46.38.

In one-meter diving, Justice McDonald finished in 14th place and Jordan Beard took 20th place. Clay Pilliard was 24th in the 500-yard freestyle and 32nd in the 200-yard freestyle. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Levi Barth-Fagan, Clay Pilliard, Acosta and Scholl was 20th, while the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Lowell Pilliard, Hayden Karkiewicz, Barth-Fagan and Scholl finished in 31st  place.
