Afternoon Sedalia Police Crime Reports, And Accidents  May 9, 2012

Sedalia man arrested for Peace Disturbance and Resisting Arrest

At 1:17 this (Wednesday) morning Sedalia Police investigated a disturbance in the 1100 block of South Moniteau. Upon arrival the report states the resident was standing a block away yelling they did not want them there. Upon contact with the suspect, 30-year-old Karis Page the officers reported the strong odor of alcohol was detected on his breath. The report states Page also refused to give them his identity, and resisted arrest to the point, they had to use a wrap on him. At the time of the police report Page was in the Pettis County Jail pending $812.50 bond on charges of Peace disturbance, and Resisting Arrest.

Local Cell Phone Company reports receiving bad checks

Tuesday evening T-Mobile at 1501 South Limit reported the business had received three checks from suspects for the purchase of two-cell phones, and a phone card. According to the complainant the suspects used fictitious Missouri ID Cards to pass three checks totaling $1291.20, for the merchandise. There was no other information in the Sedalia police report.

Sedalia man on 24-hour hold pending charges and a $250 bond
At 12:38 this (Wednesday) morning Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at West Broadway and Mitchell Road for displaying a license plate that did not match the vehicle. Upon contact with the driver, 20-year-old Dion Brown of Sedalia he was found to have a city warrant, and was a suspended driver. At the time of the police report Brown was in the Pettis County Jail on 24-hour hold pending formal charges, and a $250 bond.

Thefts from a garage reported Tuesday Morning on East 13th

At 7:35 Tuesday morning Sedalia Police took a theft complaint from a victim in the 500 block of East 13th. According to the victim sometime overnight someone entered her garage and stole a weed eater, a 5 gallon gas jug, and some tools from her garage. Value of the stolen items was placed at $85. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.

Houstonia man arrested for driving while suspended this (Wednesday) morning

At 20 minutes after mid-night this (Wednesday) morning Sedalia police stopped a vehicle at 5th and Grand for failure to signal. Upon contact with the driver, 37-year-old Michael Hursman of Houstonia he was found to be suspended. Hursman was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released pending a court date.

Accident Reports From The Missouri State Highway Patrol

Just after 2-o’clock Tuesday morning the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one vehicle injury accident on Eastbound I-70 East of Route “D” in Lafayette County. According to the report the accident occurred as the 2007 Sterling driven by 35-year-old Sead Kalakovic of St. Louis travelled off the roadway twice before impacting a ditch, and overturned. Kalakovic received serious injuries and was transported by SNI Valley to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment. A summons is pending according to the report.

 At 11:50 Tuesday night the Missouri State Highway patrol reported an n accident on US-65 Highway North of Smasal Road in Pettis County. The accident report states the accident happened when the 1985 Honda driven by Maurice Gemes of Lincoln struck a deer, and was ejected from the vehicle. Gemes received minor injuries, and sought his own treatment.
