Sedalia man arrested on a warrant during a traffic stop Monday

At 11:31am Monday morning Sedalia Police made contact with a driver, after he parked in the roadway near the intersection of North Ohio and West Morgan in a manner that would block the flow of traffic. A subsequent check on the driver identified as 37-year-old Austin F. Groves of Sedalia revealed he had an active Pettis County Warrant for non-support of a child. At the time of the police report Groves was in the Pettis County Jail pending a $30,000 bond.

Woman reports her license plates were stolen

Around 11:30am Monday morning Sedalia Police took a theft complaint from a woman in the State Fair Community College parking lot at 3201 West 16th. According to the victim someone stole the license plates from her vehicle while it was parked at the college. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.

Three reports of hit and run accidents in Sedalia Monday and Tuesday

On Monday Sedalia Police investigated a hit and run accident, that occurred near 16th and limit
That occurred at 6:20pm that evening. The police report states the vehicle sustained damage in the   incident, but the driver was not injured. No arrest had been made at the time of the police report.

At 2:40pm Monday afternoon a hit and run accident was reported in Bing’s Shopping Center at 1400 South Limit. According to the victim someone backed into her vehicle, then left the scene. There was no information on the damage to the vehicle, and no suspect information was contained in the police report.

Around 7:30am this (Tuesday) morning A victim at Interstate Studio reported their vehicle had been hit while it was parked in the parking lot of the business. The driver of the striking vehicle left the area, and had not been located at the time of the police report.
