Sedalia’s new Community Engagement Director Jessica Hoffman issued a press release on Friday afternoon concerning potholes on a private drive located just south of Highway 50 and north of Truman Inn.

The potholes between Westwood and Winchester have generated a lot of interest and concern over the past few years, with plenty of phone calls from residents demanding that it be fixed.

“As of 2021, the City is no longer responsible for maintaining or repairing this private street,” Hoffman explained. “Per a signed agreement, those responsibilities now fall equally to the property owners along the street. That said, City staff have successfully contacted three of the four businesses located there and are hopeful that, through cooperation, repairs will be made soon.”
