The Sacred Heart Junior High Girls basketball team (1-1) opened conference play on the road with a 22-13 victory over the Green Ridge Tigers Friday night.

Sammy Altena led the Gremlins with 14 points and three rebounds.

The next game for the Gremlins will be on Monday, Jan. 13, at home vs. Smithton. Tipoff at 5:30 p.m. The Gremlins are coached by Chad Damlo and Tom Van Leer.


The Sacred Heart Junior High boys (2-0,1-0) opened conference play Friday night in Green Ridge, posting a 48-15 win.

The Grems were led in scoring by Grant Goodwin with 10 points and Gavin Caldwell with 8. All 14 players on the roster got playing time with 9 different guys once again entering the scoring column.

The "B" Team (2-0,1-0) was also victorious with a 42-2 win over Green Ridge in a 2 quarter game. Andres Vanegas had 14 points to lead the Gremlins.

The Grems' next action is on Monday on the road in Otterville. The “A” boys tip off at 5:30. The boys "B" team will play following the boys "A" game.
