The Sacred Heart Junior High Lady Gremlins played the Tipton Cardinals in the Kaysinger Conference Championship game Saturday afternoon in La Monte.

The girls came up a few buckets short, losing 23-17.

The Lady Gremlins entered the fourth quarter with a one-point lead and eventually had to foul down 1, with 47 seconds left.

Tipton hit clutch free throws and the Lady Gremlins fell a bit short.

“The girls played hard and left it all on the court and that's all you can do. Sometimes that round ball, bounces in funny ways. Proud of these girls. They represent our school well, and have given everything a coach can ask for,” the coach commented. “Extremely thankful for these ladies.”
