The Bothwell Regional Health Center Foundation is offering $500 medical career scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue a degree in health care.

There are multiple scholarships available, which will be awarded to high-achieving students from Pettis and Benton counties.

Special consideration will be given to students who plan to return to the area to work in a health care-related field.

“The Bothwell Foundation encourages area students to pursue health-related careers with the hope they will return home to help meet the health-care needs of residents living in Sedalia, Warsaw, Cole Camp and other surrounding communities,” said Stafford Swearingen, president of the Bothwell Foundation. “This is a win-win for our local students and our local communities.”

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of the Bothwell Regional Health Center market area (Pettis or Benton counties). They also must provide proof of acceptance into a post-secondary educational program and enrollment in a health-related field of study.

Applications are available online at brhc.org, at the offices of high school guidance counselors, or by calling the Bothwell Foundation at (660) 829-7786. Applications must be mailed to the Bothwell Foundation at 601 E. 14th Street, Sedalia, Mo., 65301 by April 14
