To ensure staff have access to important and needed training regularly, Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri will not hold before or afterschool programs on Monday, Nov. 8. All Club Sites will reopen as normal on Nov. 9.

“Our training committee meets regularly to look at the training needs of our staff and came to the conclusion we need to conduct regular, high-quality trainings throughout the year, instead of just twice per year as we’ve done in the past,” said Director of Operations Tyler Hudson. “By blocking off one Monday every other month, we can ensure all our staff receive quality training and lessons that will benefit their Club Sites.”

Trainings will include safety and supervision, program quality, program planning, positive youth development, behavior management and diversity, equity and inclusion. Additional training days are scheduled for January 10 and March 7.

“I know this is an inconvenience to parents and those who rely on our afterschool program for childcare,” Hudson said. “But I, and the committee and leadership staff, believe this will bring higher program quality to all our Club Sites.”
