Bothwell Regional Health Center will host the next Safe Sitter babysitting education class on Saturday, June 16.

The class will take place from 7:30 a.m. -  2:30 p.m. in the Bothwell Education Center, located at 600 E 14th Street.

Bothwell says the the class is designed for children in 6 - 8 grades and ready to enter the world of babysitting. The Safe Sitter Program is described as a comprehensive, one-day course that includes pediatric CPR training and can teach young teens and preteens how to be better, safer babysitters.

Students in the class will also have the opportunity to learn about injury management and prevention, childcare essentials, behavior management, the business of babysitting, and how to care for a choking child or infant.

The cost for the class is $35.00, which includes a messenger bag containing babysitting essentials.

Preregistration and payment is due by June 13. For more information, call 827-9138. BRHC noted that class size is limited.
