Sedalia Man Arrested for Kidnapping on Buckner Court

On Thursday, May 7 at 9:43 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to the 300 block of Buckner Court for a disturbance.

Upon arrival, it became clear to the officer that the situation had already escalated to the point of someone not being allowed to leave an apartment by threat of a knife.

The suspect eventually surrendered, and 31-year-old Deon Antonio McGee was then arrested without further incident.

Charges submitted to the prosecutor include kidnapping, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, resisting arrest, 4th degree domestic assault, and 2nd degree property damage.

McGee was also wanted on two misdemeanor FTA warrants.
