Burn Ban Issued For City of Sedalia

A burn ban has been issued for the City of Sedalia.

“With high temperatures and little rainfall predicted the city of Sedalia has been placed in a burn ban until further notice. No open burning, including burn pits will be allowed until the city receives significant rainfall and cooler temperatures,” said Sedalia Fire Chief Matthew Irwin on Wednesday morning.

"The use of barbeque grills is still authorized, as long as the grill has a lid to cover the fire while cooking," he added.

It was announced on Tuesday that Pettis County is also currently under a burn ban as well.
