Usually around this time of year you have to search for something cool to do.  Well, something warm to do that's fun, I guess I should say.  It's so cold out that nobody really wants to spend a huge amount of time outside.  That's why we've got the huge Cabin Fever Sports Show, and it's getting closer by the day.

The Cabin Fever Sport Show sponsored by Angler’s Port Marine and Rustic Creek Outfitters is coming back to the Mathewson Exhibition Center on the Missouri State Fairgrounds on Feb. 1-2. This fun event for the entire family will expand into the Lowell Mohler Hall this year. There's going to be an awesome barbecue contest (which I'm hoping I'll get to sample) this year. See the most monster deer in the world at the World’s Outstanding Whitetails Display, plus many booths for hunting and fishing, camping, boating, home renovation, crafts, home based businesses, body, health and beauty, kids games, fishing seminars, blacksmithing demonstrations, hourly door prizes and so much more.

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking: "But, Behka, how much more can there be?"  I'll address that question twofold: first, why are you so demanding about this information, and second, why are you not at least a little bit freaked out that I can read your mind?  Well, Judge Judyperson, I'm going to prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt for you by spelling it out. Here are some of the great products and services you’ll find at this year’s sports show:

  • Hunting, Fishing and Archery Gear
  • Boats and marine accessories
  • Cars, Trucks, SUVs, Motorcycles and ATVs
  • Bicycles
  • Yacht Club Information
  • Steel Buildings and Garage Building Information
  • Tips from the Missouri Department of Conservation
  • Roofing and Guttering
  • Energy Efficiency Information
  • Sunrooms
  • Hair Salon and Spa services and Products
  • Taxidermy
  • Realty Listings
  • Outfitting Information
  • Guns and Ammo Accessories
  • Upholstery
  • Relay for Life Sign-Up Information
  • Crafts and Homemade Decor
  • Food and Beverages
  • Much More!
And if that wasn't enough to convince you, I got to talk to Leslee Howard, our Live Event Guru, and another major figure, Harry Hoeffert, about all the other details.

Tickets to the Cabin Fever Sports Show are $4 or $2 with a food item to donate to Community Cafe. Children 12 and under are FREE. See ya at the 2014 Cabin Fever Sports Show, sponsored by Anglers Port Marine and Rustic Creek Outfitters, on Feb. 1-2! I'll be out there most all weekend, and you should be, too.
