A Callaway County teenager was killed Sunday around noon in a one-vehicle accident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that 18-year-old Nathan D. Clingman of Steedman was the driver of an eastbound 1996 Chevrolet on Missouri 94, one-half mile east of Route C in Callaway County at 12:10 p.m., when the Chevy slid off the south side of the roadway and overturned.

The driver was partially ejected, and the vehicle came to rest of its top. Clingman was not wearing a safety device, according to the report.

Clingman was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:10 by Callaway County Medical Examiner Dori Burke. The body was taken to the Boone County Medical Examiner's Office via Maupin Funeral Home.

The Chevy was totaled.
