City of Sedalia Completes TRIM Grant
The City of Sedalia has successfully completed a Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance (TRIM) Grant awarded by the Missouri Department of Conservation.
The grant supported initiatives aimed at enhancing the City’s community urban forest. One component on the grant provided funds for the printing of a “Tree Care Basics” flyer, which was included in residents March utility bill.
Originally, the grant planned for the planting of 40 trees at both Katy Park and the Sedalia Animal Shelter. However, the City was able to expand the effort-planting 25 trees at the Sedalia Animal Shelter establishing a new grove of trees next to the walking trail, and 40 trees at Katy Park to replace trees previously removed due to damage or disease.

To support the health and establishment throughout the City of these new trees, grant funds were also used to purchase watering ‘gator’ bags and two portable pumps for use throughout the City’s public grounds.
Any questions regarding these activities may be directed to the Public Works Department, 200 S. Osage, Sedalia, MO at (660) 827-3000 extension 1166.
