On Wednesday, Nov. 3, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Pettis County K9 Unit was conducting surveillance on residence in the area of H Highway and Mockbee Street and Fowler Street (Hughesville)  in reference to illegal drug activity reported to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office.

A short time later Pettis County Deputies and the K9 Unit observed a vehicle fitting the description of a vehicle that had been reported coming and going all hours of the night.

The Pettis County K9 Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and the driver fled at a low rate of speed of approximately 30 mph.

The driver, later identified as Kelly Thomas Coke, stopped and was taken into custody.

Kelly Thomas Coke was found to be in possession of 11 grams of methamphetamine and a digital scale. Kelly Thomas Coke was also driving while revoked and had two active warrants for his arrest, one of which was a no-bond probation/parole violation.

Kelly Thomas Coke was placed on a 24-hour hold, pending charges of possession with the intent to deliver, felony driving while revoked, felony resisting arrest.
