Warrensburg Council Discusses ‘Freedom Fest,’ Facility Grade Audit

On Monday, June 22nd, Warrensburg’s City Council met to discuss different town happenings.
The first main topic of discussion, led by Mayor Bruce Uhler, was the town’s upcoming Freedom Festival on July 4th.
“The Freedom Festival committee in Warrensburg is amazing,” Uhler said.
The event is set to include a 5k, a children’s patriotic bike ride, bounce houses, and America's 250th Celebration. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30.

The next major discussion was a presentation of the facility grade audit report by Schneider Electric. This was presented by Midwest Sales Team Leader Peter Hinkle.
One aspect of this presentation was the plan to replace aged or failing HVAC units.
“A lot of these units that we saw, I think, are in need of replacement,” Hinkle said.
Schneider Electric is planning to improve many city buildings.
“We want to improve the efficiency of your buildings and of your infrastructures. We want to create better operational scenarios so that buildings are operating the way they are supposed to,” Hinkle said.
The company has incorporated the use of solar power to make the city more efficient and sustainable.
The company also has plans to repair and replace identified facilities and to remodel City Hall.
The Warrensburg Parks Department also spoke at the meeting about fixing a leak at the Nassif kiddie pool. The pool is now operational.
The Parks Department also spoke about the Lions Lake chemical treatment. They have applied three chemical treatments to prevent algae.
The Public Works Department was another city staff group with a report at the meeting. The SS4A modification was approved, and the EC grant is approved for intended use.
This segment was followed by a closed session before adjourning.
