Department of Defense Names New Chairperson For Missouri ESGR Committee

The Department of Defense, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) program recently announced the appointment of Tom Krahenbuhl from Holden, Missouri as the new State Chair for the Missouri ESGR Committee.

Krahenbuhl is a proven leader and was selected as the best possible candidate from Missouri. As Chair, he is responsible for organizing and supervising all Missouri ESGR volunteers. As a part of his duties, he will be the liaison to influential people, including governors, general and flag officers, elected officials and business and community leaders.

Krahenbuhl has served on the Missouri ESGR Committee for over 17 years in different capacities, from Area Chair, Awards Committee Director, Ombudsman Director and on National Subcommittees. His service at both the state and national level gained notoriety for his accomplishments working with prominent leaders of government and industry.

“My tenure with the Missouri ESGR Committee has been one of the most rewarding experiences one can ever have. I am honored to have been selected to Chair Missouri’s Program,” said Krahenbuhl.

The Committee would also like to thank our former chair, retired Brig. Gen. Greg Mason, for his leadership, hard work and dedication while in this position.

State Chairs lead the effort at the state level across all 50 states, the District of Columbia (DC) and three U.S. territories to promote cooperation and understanding between Guard and Reserve members and their civilian employers.

Military members in the Guard and Reserve, along with their civilian employers, form an alliance essential to the security of our nation. These brave men and women perform critical roles in disaster relief efforts at home and abroad, and continue to serve around the world to ensure our freedom. They could not perform these critical missions without employer support.

For nearly 50 years, ESGR has assisted Reserve Component service members. Supported by a network of more than 4,600 volunteers from across our nation, the ESGR staff fosters a culture that values the citizen warriors of the National Guard and Reserve.

The program continues to meet the needs of Reserve Component members, their families, and America’s employers by joining forces with a network of other national, state and local government and professional trade organizations.
