A Holden woman was injured early this morning after her vehicle made contact with a deer in the roadway.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2017 Ford C-Max, driven by 66-year-old Catherine M. Railey of Holden, was on US 50 Highway at Milton Thompson Road in Jackson County around 4:15 a.m., when she struck a deer.

Railey suffered minor injuries and was transported by Southern Jackson County EMS to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment.

The Ford had extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Elite Towing.
