Doris “Renee” Wood, 55

Doris “Renee” Wood, 55, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at her daughter’s home.

Renee was born June 23, 1960, in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of Kenneth Vaughan and Bonnie and William "Bill" Marriott, who preceded her in death.

On June 17, 1978, in Versailles, she married Kennith W. Wood, Jr., who passed away August 26, 2011.

She graduated from Stover High School in 1978 and was a member of the Old Path Church in Eldon.

Renee was a devoted wife and mother, not only to her children, but to many children who came through her home. She enjoyed bird watching and her home on the lake, but her greatest joy came from her family who were her world.

She is survived by a son, Kennith W. “Tray” Wood, III, and his wife Sheila, of Houstonia; two daughters, Amy Wood and Amanda Wood Dotson, both of Sedalia; six grandchildren, Emily Dotson, Troy “Turtle” Wood, Zane Dotson, Willow Franklin, Montana Wood and Kadin Kanak; a sister, Rita G. Marriott; and two brothers, William "Mark" Marriott and Matthew T. Marriott.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Eddie Gladback officiating.

Honorary bearers will be Kevin Franklin, Josh Welch, Megan Kreisel, Joshua Griffin, Tom Quick Sr., Eric Dotson and Frank Cooley.
Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.
