Eldon Man Struck & Killed on Highway 52

An Eldon man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 52 Tuesday morning in Miller County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500, driven by 27-year-old Alton L. McClure of Clarksburg, was on Highway 52, 79 feet west of Pine Street (near Casey's) in Eldon around 5:25 a.m., when he struck a pedestrian in the roadway.

37-year-old Tyler M. Tompkins of Eldon, was taken to Lake Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 6:13 a.m., by Dr. Rodger Campbell.
