Fiery Crash Kills 4 Sedalia Residents

Four people are dead after a one-vehicle accident occurred in Pettis County early Sunday morning (March 9).

Dmitriy Banakh, 25, was driving on Highway B south of Sacajawea Road when he drove off the left side of the road, striking a ditch and a tree. A fire ignited by the crash engulfed the car, killing Banakh and three other occupants, 16-year-old Anna Morgunenko, 19-year-old Angelika Franchuk and 20-year-old Daniel Morgunenko.

The occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene and taken to the Boone County Medical Examiner's office.
