“Maya knew from day one that she wanted to play professionally,” said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher. “She worked extremely hard after graduating from Wichita State. I almost cried when I found out that she accomplished her goal to play overseas. I will always remember the last second three-point shot that Maya hit against Moberly."

Brewer was a member of the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team and the Wichita State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Brewer appeared in all 31 games as a senior making five starts and finishing tied for third on the team with 21 three-point baskets.
“I never had a player who wanted to do so well for her coach,” said Bucher. “Maya will always have a special place in my heart. Maya really wanted to do well academically and athletically and have an opportunity to further career after she graduated from State Fair. She did that at Wichita State. We try to keep in touch once a month and now she’s living her dream like she always wanted to."
