Hotel Bothwell, the City of Sedalia and Sedalia Main Streets will sponsor the annual Hotel Bothwell Thanksgiving Night Lighting and Fireworks Thursday, Nov. 28 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The free, family-friendly event is an annual holiday tradition in downtown Sedalia and draws hundreds to the area to watch synchronized fireworks set off atop the seven-story Hotel Bothwell, 4th and Ohio, by AM Pyrotechnics, LLC.

Eleven local businesses will remain open that night from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

There will also be food trucks located near the Furnell Pavilion. Scheduled to appear are Local Eats & Sweets, Birkin Brewing Company and Arnold’s Loaded Fries and Lemonade.

In addition Santa and his Elves will be at the Furnell Pavilion that evening.

The Studio A Conservatory will showcase characters from The Nutcracker in the lobby of Hotel Bothwell. Bring your camera phones for photos with the cast of the production.

The Furnell Family thanked the Sedalia Police Department and Sedalia Fire Department for providing security and safety for all those attending the popular event.

Thanks also went to Mayor Andrew Dawson and Joleigh Cornine with Sedalia Main Streets for their support, as well as Smith-Cotton High School students Ashlei Boeschen and Ashlyn Gerlt from the high school’s Business and Entrepreneurship CAPS class.
