Irma L. Koch, 83, of Sedalia died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at her son’s home near Russellville.

Graveside services will be Friday, February 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in DeWitt. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with a memorial service following the visitation. Memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church, or Leukemia Lymphoma Society to help find a cure for Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Born December 2, 1931 in DeWitt, she was the daughter of the late James B. and Lyndall Owings Bittiker. On June 18, 1950 in Carrollton, MO she married William R. (Bill) Koch and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1992.

he is survived by two sons, Mike Koch and his wife, Mary of Odessa and Jim Koch and his wife, Susan of Russellville; five grandchildren, one step-grandson; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson and two brothers, Gene Bittiker and James B. Bittiker, Jr.

Mrs. Koch attended Calvary Baptist Church in Sedalia, where she had recently served as organist. She was a graduate of Carrollton High School and member of Chapter BB of the P.E.O Sisterhood. She and her husband owned and operated Heisel-Koch Funeral Home in Brunswick for 31 years until their retirement. In addition to the funeral home she had also owned and operated the Uptown Café in downtown Brunswick. She moved to Sedalia in 1995 and worked as a licensed funeral director and receptionist at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel since 1998.
