Ready for Longer Days? Daylight Savings Time Starts This Weekend
Are you ready for longer days? Daylight Saving Time begins this Sunday, which means we’ll lose an hour of sleep, but brighter, warmer days are on the way.
When Does Daylight Saving Time Begin in 2026?
This year, we spring forward on March 9, bringing later sunsets and more evening daylight. If you’re wondering when you’ll start noticing those longer evenings, take a look at the sunrise and sunset times for the first week after the time change.
I always say there aren’t enough hours in the day, but for the next few months, it’ll at least feel like we have a little more daylight to work with. And for all the busy moms out there who never seem to get everything checked off the to-do list, those extra daylight hours can make a big difference.
Sunrise and Sunset Times After the Time Change
Below are the sunrise and sunset times for the week following Daylight Saving Time:
St. Louis
March 8
- Sunrise 7:22 am
- Sunset: 7:00 pm
Hannibal
- Sunrise: 7:27 am
- Sunset: 7:05 pm
Kansas City
- Sunrise: 7:40 am
- Sunset: 7:18 pm
Whether you want to keep Daylight Saving Time or not, it’s arriving this Sunday — earlier in the calendar than it ever has before.

All we can do now is be ready for the time change and prepare to spring forward.
