A 27-year old woman from Tipton was arrested on Sunday (July 29), after a K-9 alerted to the presence of meth during a traffic stop in Moniteau County.

The Moniteau County Sheriff's Department says deputies conducted a vehicle stop in Kliever, MO for a registration violation. Deputies made contact with the driver, 27-year old Sara M. James.

Authorities report that James "became very nervous and was visibly shaking." A consent to search the vehicle was reportedly denied.

A K-9 Unit was on scene and during the investigation, indicated a positive alert for drugs. Deputies searched the vehicle and discovered methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

James was arrested and taken to the Moniteau County Jail for several drug charges, including Possession of a Controlled Substance (meth). She had a total bond of $26,000.
