A Kansas man drowned after the boat he was in overturned on the Osage River Saturday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a westbound 15-foot 1978 Monark, piloted by 63-year-old Carl W. Church of Nevda, Mo., was on the Osage River, one mile west of the Taberville Access around 4:15 p.m., when the boat struck a submerged object in the water and overturned, ejecting all occupants.

46-year-old Chad Boswell of Arma, Kansas, was pronounced dead at the scene by St. Clair County Coroner Randy Sheldon 1:55 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The body was taken to Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Three others were injured, including Carl Church. He was taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. 18-year-old Brandon Boswell of Arma, and a five-year-old female of El Dorado Springs, were also taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
