A La Monte woman was moderately injured in a two-vehicle wreck that occurred on New Year's Eve in Jackson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a southbound 2015 Chevy Silverado driven by 25-year-old Lauren J. Hall of Independence pulled into the path of a westbound 2008 Toyota driven by 41-year-old Stacy L. Schouten of La Monte at at 3:48 a.m. Dec. 31 at US 50 and Route F in Jackson County.

76-year-old Virginia L. Schouten of La Monte was taken to Centerpoint Hospital as well as a passenger in the Silverado, 49-year-old William R. Sterling of Las Vegas Nev., with minor injuries. Both were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the report noted.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.

Lone Jack Police assisted the Patrol at the scene.

Lauren Hall was arrested by the Patrol at 4:29 a.m. and charged with felony possession of cocaine, DWI, no insurance and failure to stop at a stop sign. She was taken to Lee's Summit Police Department, where she was booked and released.
