SFCC (3-0) opened the home portion of their schedule with a 2-0 victory over Southeast Community College on Saturday, Aug. 28 at the Fred E. Davis Sports Complex in Sedalia.

SFCC continued their pattern of scoring early when Moon put the Lady Roadrunners on the scoreboard with 43 minutes and 19 seconds remaining the opening half, courtesy of an assist from sophomore midfielder Skyler Sweezor.

SFCC got what would prove to be the final goal of the match when Woolery dribbled down the touchline, turned the corner, and drove a shot into the net with less than 21 minutes remaining in the half.

Romero got the start in net for SFCC and secured the first shutout of the season. Romero made seven saves in the match.

"Our team played very well," said Beltran. "We knew what Southeast wanted to do, and we had the game plan that pretty much shut them down. We were able to get two great goals on the counterattack and a couple other opportunities. I was proud of our team and it's great to see them begin the season 3-0."
