Below is a sampling of cases that were resolved in the Circuit Court of Pettis County Law Day on February 14, 2020.

James L. Hays, Jr: age 49, Sedalia, MO was sentenced to 7, 7 and 7 year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections on 3 counts of Abuse or Neglect of a Child to run consecutive to 13, 13, 13, 7 and 4 year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections on five separate matters (3 counts of Kidnapping, 1 count of Domestic Assault and 1 count of Animal Abuse).

Corey T. Owens: age 29. Sedalia, MO was sentenced to 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine to run consecutively to two 7 year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections for Assault Third and Resisting Arrest.

Gary L. Gaines: age 51, Sedalia, MO was sentenced to 5 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine.

Brandon Lee High-Frump: age 31, Sedalia, MO was sentenced to 4 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after his probation was revoked.

Amanda Nicole Martz: age 36, Sedalia, MO was sentenced to 5 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine.

David Peak: age 35, Sedalia, MO was sentenced to 7, 4 and 4 year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections after his probation was revoked. In addition, Mr. Peak was sentenced to 4 and 2 year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections on two separate matters (1 count Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine and 1 count Resisting Arrest).

Richard Troy Heston: age: 49, Sedalia, MO was sentenced to two 7 year sentences to run consecutively to a 3 year sentence in the Missouri Department of Corrections after his probation was revoked. In addition, Mr. Heston was sentenced to 4 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine.

Melinda G. Davis: age 33, Boonville, MO was sentenced to two 5 year sentences in the Missouri Department of Corrections after her probation was revoked.

Mary E. Dearing: age 37, Sedalia, MO was sentenced to 8 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for Possession of a Controlled Substance-methamphetamine as a prior and persistent drug offender.
