A Lee's Summit man was injured after striking a deer with his motorcycle Saturday evening in Pettis County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 55-year-old Jerry J. Roberts of Lee's Summit was the driver of a westbound 2013 Harley Davidson Electra Glide on US 50, just west of Carroll Road around 7:30 p.m. when he struck a deer. The impact caused the driver to be ejected and the motorcycle came to rest in the left lane of westbound 50.

Roberts suffered moderate injuries, and was transported by ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment.

Pettis County Deputies assisted the Troopers on scene.
