The last First Thursday event of 2024 will take place Thursday, Oct. 3 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., in downtown Sedalia, according to a press release from Main Streets Sedalia.

The theme of this event is “There's No Place Like Home” and there will be scarecrows in the area as part of a contest. The alley between 2nd and 3rd Street will become “Tin Can Alley” due to the Airstream Club in town this week and next for their annual rally at the fairgrounds. Members apparently call their shiny, silver travel trailers “tin cans.”
